SLICKDOTR FIGHTS OFF THE “PRESSURE” IN LATEST VISUALS [@SLICKDOTR]
East London artist SlickdotR gets introspective in his latest track “Pressure”.
The self-produced track focuses on SlickdotR’s enduring journey to the top as he works effortlessly to achieve his goals, despite the obstacles he may face along the way.
Speaking on the concept behind his latest track, SlickdotR explains “When I made the beat for this track, I was actually feeling under pressure. The chorus came to my mind right away, feeling the pressure to be there for everyone around me and the pressure of needing to take this music to the next level. This track was my way of expressing the mindset I was in at that time.”
We spoke to SlickdotR to learn a little more about how he got started in music, his musical influence and what the future holds for him.
“I started playing around making beats using Reason and Cubase at 15 years old. Over the years of me emceeing and rapping, my beats improved and I officially started producing for myself 3 years ago.”
“Overall, Kanye West inspires me as Artist/Producer, he’s always pushing the sound and that what I’m trying to do for the UK. Dot Rotten also falls within this group. He was one of the first I heard making Grime, with his production, hooks and melodic vocals. Lastly, Kendrick Lamar never fails to amaze me lyrically and conceptually.”
“I’ve got a load of original material that I want to share with the world. SR1 Is already available on most streaming services and I’ll be following it up with SR2 around the first quarter of the year. I plan to reach more stages this year coming and I’m excited to hear what people think of this new sound I’m creating.”
